Karen Kwok was born in Australia from Chinese immigrant parents and graduated from University of Technology, Sydney, (UTS) in fashion & textile design.
Her design philosophy is centred around 'Slow Fashion'. She creates key wardrobe pieces which are all made in Australia, from high quality fabrics, with styles that do not date. Say good bye to mall shopping - it's boring.
After an extensive career in the fashion industry, she now owns & runs acquire@DESIGN, has her own clothing label - Kimberley Tonkin, and lectures at various fashion institutions in Sydney, including UTS and Torrens University (formerly known as Billy Blue College of Design)
Since an early age Marianna had was fascinated by beautiful clothes. Now, with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry (including working for a well renowned local fashion textile company as well as a major Australian fashion label), she made the decision to start her own label.
Marianna is dedicated to her philosophy of improving the quality and style of clothing available to all women, whether they’re looking for maternity clothing or simply for beautifully designed and created garments that suit all shapes, sizes and circumstances!
Marianna's goal with Lulu Manna is to bring back the art of boutique fashion in Australia. We have all become too enchanted by big-name ‘fast fashion’ brands that we forget what it’s like to wear a locally made, unique design.
Lulu Manna has a personal and timeless feel which can be seen from her intimate customer service experience to the brand's warm signature style.
